Four people lost their lives in a road accident along the Nairobi-Namanga road in Kitengela this morning.

The accident involved a bus which was ferrying workers of a flower farm, which rammed into a water bowser as the driver of the bus was trying to overtake a boda boda cyclist.

The bus and the boda boda were moving towards Kitengela and the bowser truck in the opposite direction. The bus driver's calculation wasn't successful as he hit the boda boda and also rammed into the bowser.

The boda boda rider and his passenger and the driver and his conductor perished in the accident, and several other passengers on the bus were seriously injured.

Those with slight injuries were treated at the Shalom Hospital and the Kitengela Sub-county Hospital and discharged, but others are still undergoing treatment.

Eyewitnesses said the bus was cruising at high speed and hit a bodaboda and swerved into the water bowser.

This comes after barely 24 hours after a Ongata Rongai bound bus crashed due to reckless driving killing four people.
