Kenya was this morning awash with sad news that the wife of NASA Principal Kalonzo Musyoka recuperating in a Germany hospital had passed away. However, the family corrected that the news was false and asked Kenyans to ignore it. Many leaders condemned those generating such news for their lack of empathy for the family's pain.

Mr Musyoka, who is on his wife’s bedside, was quick to dismiss the report the rumours about his wife circulating in social media saying Pauline is still unwell and is receiving treatment in Germany.

"It is a wicked fabrication. Please dismiss the rumours with the contempt they deserve. It is obvious to me that there are some in our country who are so evil that they can dare spread such propaganda. We forgive them,” he said from Germany."

Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper Democractic Movement also released a press statement dismissing the rumours. “Our attention has been drawn to false reports and rumours circulating on social media concerning Her Excellency, Mama Pauline Kalonzo.

“We hereby inform Kenyans that, contrary to the wishes of doomsayers, Mrs. Kalonzo is alive and recuperating well”, said Dr Jared Maaka Siso, Executive Director of the party.

He said the malicious rumours emanating from the enemies of the person and family of Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka should be seen for what they are – “ill-intentioned antics meant to deflect the attention of Kenyan from the nefarious plans by the enemies of democracy to swear in an illegitimate government.” He said Mr Musyoka and his family do not wish to be dragged into such shenanigans.

“We urge with all humility that those spreading such devilish rumours should desist forthwith! It is unfortunate that certain elements in the society would derive pleasure in spreading malicious propaganda on the health of the spouse of their political nemesis”, added Dr Siso.

He asked Kenyans of goodwill to treat the rumours as mere hearsay that does not deserve any attention whatsoever.
