The National Tallying Centre set to be closed to members of the public for eight weeks

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, according to insiders, will only permit duly accredited agents to the National Vote Tallying Centre in a bid to enhance transparency.

The National Tallying Centre, Bomas, is set to be shut to members of Public for two months [eight weeks] commencing from the coming Saturday. According to a statement from the management, the closure will come into force from Saturday and will continue until August 31st, 2017.

“We wish to inform our esteemed clients that we will remain closed to the members of the public from Saturday 1st July 2017 to Thursday 1st August 2017,”stated the management.

“We shall resume our normal operations on Friday 1st September 2017.”

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, according to insiders, will only permit duly accredited agents to the National Vote Tallying Centre in a bid to enhance transparency.

The electoral agency has stated that it will have internet connectivity complete with a media Centre. “The IEBC will have a media Centre complete with internet connectivity…”read the electoral body’s statement in part.
