Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua has mourned the death of two Administration Police Officers attached to his office and two other officers through a road accident along Mombasa road early today. They died when their county car, a Nissan Tiida, collided head-on with a Toyota Prado.

“It is with profound sadness and shock I have learnt of the passing away of two Administration Police officers attached to the Office of the Governor, an Inspectorate Officer and a driver through a road accident along Mombasa Road last night.

“My prayers and thoughts are with the families and friends of the deceased. Kindly remember them in your prayers during this difficult moment. You served our country diligently and with utmost dedication. You will greatly be missed by all. Fare thee well”, he said in the condolence message posted on his Facebook page.

The driver of the Prado was taken to Mater Hospital in critical condition, said Athi River OCPD Sharmah Wario. The group was returning from Nairobi after escorting Dr Mutua's wife's Lilian.
