Funyula MP Paul Otuoma made a surprise visit to Changara Division in Teso North this morning where he issued a 48-hour ultimatum for ODM to hand him the nomination certificate or else he defects to another political party. Dr Otuoma billed his trip as a 'thanksgiving' tour to express his appreciation for voters in a polling station that gave him just 38 votes.

The MP attended a Sunday service at the Kopia Anglican Church where he donated Sh50,000 for the church choir and also pledged to provide seating benches at a later date. After the service, the MP addressed an impromptu rally at Changara Market where he said he would be waiting for the nomination certificate by Tuesday morning, failure of which he would resign from ODM.

The MP was adamant that he would not take part in ODM repeat elections scheduled for April 25. "All I want is the party certificate. I don't have any reason to participate in another election when I have won the one we were all waiting for," the MP said, and asked the residents to support his bid in whichever party he would join.
