Siaya leaders want police boss transferred

Leaders in Siaya have demanded the transfer of area police commandant Crispus Mutali over the recent shooting which led to the killing of three youths during protests to demand the resignation of electoral commission officials.

Leaders in Siaya have demanded the transfer of area police commandant Crispus Mutali over the recent shooting which led to the killing of three youths during protests to demand the resignation of electoral commission officials.

Three young men have been killed in Siaya Town since the demos began.

Led by Governor Cornel Rasanga, the leaders said they would not cooperate with Mutali, under whose orders the youths were killed.

Speaking at Pundo Rambo village in Alego/Usonga constituency during the burial of Austin Juma Omwombo, one of the youths, Rasanga said he had petitioned the Inspector General of Police to demand Mutali’s transfer.
