The newly-launched Jubilee Party has taken control of the Trans Nzoia County Assembly following the election of new majority and minority leaders and addressed a constitutional crisis that had enveloped the assembly’s operations for two months. The merger of The National Alliance (TNA), United Republican Party (URP) and New Ford-Kenya has made the Jubilee Party the single largest bloc in the assembly with Ford-Kenya now the main opposition.

Accordingly, Jubilee’s Hospital Ward MCA Simon Toroitich has taken the post of majority leader and Sirende Ward MCA Alfred Weswa (Ford-Kenya) the leader of minority. Mr Weswa has taken over from Jubilee’s Hillary Kemei (MCA for Motosiet) who previously held the post on behalf of URP.
