Residents of Uamani village in Matungulu Sub County yesterday woke up to the shocking news of a man who slaughtered his two daughters and later hanged himself in broad daylight. The said man, Urbanus Kioko, a middle aged man is the father of six and three years old daughters and is said to have separated from his wife two years ago.

His neighbors stumbled upon their bodies and immediately informed the police. It is reported that the mother of the slain girls has since been cohabiting with another man who threatened to take her children from their father which is believed to have been the reason he took such a step.

Mr Kioko was not pleased with what was happening in his marriage and even informed a relative who lives in Ruai of what his wife had threatened to do and announced that he would rather kill his own children than letting them go.

The relative then informed the neighbours who immediately rushed to Kioko's home only a tad too late. 'We found the two girls already stabbed and their father hanging in his father's house,' a neighbor said.

Matungulu OCPD Joseph Chesire confirmed the incident stating that the police had already launched investigations into the matter.
