In a move aimed at improving efficiency, Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Alex Tolgos has reshuffled some members of his executive and senior administrators.

The governor has also asked the County Assembly to approve the changes which include redeployment of top county executives, including for Finance and Planning, and chief officers.

Shadrack Chelimo, until last week the executive for Finance and Economic Planning, moves to ICT and Public Service. He has swapped places with Stephen Biwott who has held the position since 2013 in the shakeup that affected six chief officers.

“The reshuffle is expected to create an effective team spirit and whole rounded knowledge among CECs and Cos,” Tolgos said in statement.

The Education and Technical Training chief officer Netty Jemutai swapped places with Water and Environment CO Boaz Changach.

Titus Ayiebei, the chief officer for ICT and Public Service, moves to Health Services and his place taken by Tourism CO Ishmael Chelanga who was replaced by Sports CO Anita Kimwatan.

The changes were met with a sigh of relief from top officials in the county, who had been speculating that some administrators would be fired altogether.
