Kiambu governor Babayao calls MCAs to duty next week

The Kiambu County Assembly is expected to be one of the most vibrant, having a new-record number of new MCAs and the second highest representation of women members, most of whom are nominated.

Kiambu Governor Ferdinard Ngungu Waititu Babayao has called the region's newly-elected members of the county assembly (MCAs) to the first sitting of the Assembly to be held on Thursday, September 7.

According to a Special Issue of Kenya Gazette Supplement No 7 (Kiambu County Legislative Supplement No. 1), Waititu, who dethroned former governor William Kabogo during the August 8 election, uses his full name including the nickname Babayao which he recently made into his official name.
