A woman was left speechless after another  woman who requested her to hold a baby as she responded to a call of nature disappeared  leaving the baby behind. The incident happened in Mwingi Town on Monday and Ms Mueni Kilonzo was in shock after the unknown woman's disappearance.

Narrating to passers-by she said that a strange lady asked her to take care of the baby at Osa vinya stage along Mwingi Garissa highway for her to relieve herself but she never returned. As things unfolded, Ms Mueni began being apprehensive after the mother of the baby took too long  and eventually failed to return.

Ms Mueni took the two-year old abandoned girl to Mwingi police Station so as to trace the mother of the child.

Police instead told her to go home with the baby and return the following day promising to trace the errant mother.

Due to what she terms lack of cooperation by the police, Ms Mueni is calling upon well-wishers to help her take care of the baby because it is very hard for her to raise the poor little girl because she has her own young baby aged one and five months to take care of.

She added that she does not have enough resources to take care of the two babies. This is not the first case of abandoned kids at bus termini.
