Parents of Mwisyani primary school in Nguluni, Matungulu subcounty stormed the school in protest against the deployment of a new head teacher. They are protesting against the transfer of Mrs Mwelu to the school after the former school head teacher, Mr Thomas Nzele retired in June

It took the intervention of area chief and his assistant to calm the situation as the parents wanted to rough up the teacher who was whisked away  to safety by the area MCA Magdalene Ndawa.

Ms Ndawa, who is vying for the Matungulu MP seat, said that there is need for parents to support the education of their children and lamented the move  by the parents saying it was not good as it disrupted learning program of pupils.

"I want to say that as parents we should support the education of our children I think the parents took a step that was not good because they have disrupted the learning of their children and they are almost starting their exams," said Ms Ndawa.

She added that the parents should consider dialogue with the authority concerned with education so as to avoid disrupting learning programs. She later pointed out that she had spoken with the Machakos County Director of Education and appointed the school Senior teacher Mrs Francisca Musembi as the acting school head as he searches for another school head teacher.
