NASA’s North Eastern special envoy turns hit for W/R position in Wajir County

National Super Alliance (NASA) special envoy in North Eastern Halima Ali Omar aka Halima shina is shaking the ground selling the Opposition in what is seen an aggressive offensive against Jubilee in Wajir County.

Ms Halima is also eying Wajir Women Representative position on Ford Kenya ticket and has launched door to door campaign to popularize the opposition in the county as she use the name of NASA principal and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula who is also the party leader.

Ms Halima contested the last elections and garnered 20,000 and lost to Fatuma Ibrahim who is now eying Tarbaj Constituency for MP position.

She is banking on the position of being a member of NASA technical committee being the only female member of the five member-team as well as being the youngest person. “I am happy that I was in the team that drafted the NASA coalition agreement where the deal of power sharing was ironed. The NASA manifesto wants to devolve more funds to the counties and our NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga is the man to ensure that 45 per cent of the budget goes to the 47 counties”, she said when she released her Manifesto at Wajir town. She added that Garrissa, Wajir and Mandera counties are celebrating fruits of devolution.

In her manifesto she also using her experience to convince the electorate she has what it takes to be elected for that position. Having worked in the County governor Abdullahi Ahmed’s  office in charge of youth and women empowerment. During that time, she says she supported girl child education through issuance of bursaries and sports activities for the group.

Ms Halima hails from Wajir West Constituency and completed her primary education at Wajir girls primary and joined Limuru girls. She got her first degree from Kenya Methodist University and Master’s degree from Kenyatta university.
