Wajir gubernatorial candidate Ambassador Mohamed Abdi Mahamud has outlined the key pillars of his manifesto and said it would be implemented practically if he becomes the next governor. He said his government would be an inclusive one involving all people of Wajir irrespective of clan, religious or sectarian divides.
He at the same time hailed the unity among the three main clans-Degodia, Ajuran and Ogaden plus the smaller clans which have spearheaded a peaceful campaign. “I want to assure the people supporting my candidature that I will form an inclusive government as well as empowering women, youth and the disabled”, he said adding that he still commands the voters who were behind him in 2013 and is confident of winning since he has also snatch a big number from his rival and the incumbent Mr Ahmed Abdullahi.
He spoke last night at Laico Regency Hotel, Nairobi during a fundraising dinner for Wajir Jubilee candidates for the August 8, General elections when he gave the vote of thanks. He said his government will put in place mitigation measures to eradicate perennial inter-clan wars.
The ambassador thanked those who attended and donated towards aiding the Jubilee candidates and promised them that his government will serve diligently and effectively to the satisfaction of Wajir people.

His running mate Mr Ahmed Ali Muktar aka Mashqul who hails from Wajir South constituency with the highest number of registered voters promised to have them vote for the Ambassador as well as other Jubilee candidates.
He said being among the youth their government will involve them in key decision making of the County administration. Mashqul also promised to have the youth and women get awarded tenders by the government they will form if Ambassador Abdi is elected governor.
Parliamentary Service Commissioner Dr Abdullahi Kabreta who is vying for Senate position on Jubilee ticket said the votes from his Ajuran clan will go to all Jubilee candidates. “With the Jubilee team being endorsed by the three main clans, then we are definitely going to win overwhelmingly”, he said.
He said with Ambassador Abdi as next governor, whom he described as an effective administrator, he assured the congregation of a graft free government while promising to do his oversight role as senator.
Wajir West MP Mr Abdikadir Ore who is not seeking re-election during the August 8 polls, assured the Jubilee team that the constituency voters will rally behind the ambassador and other candidates vying on the ruling party ticket.
MPs Mr Aden Keynan, (Eldas), Mr Abass Sheikh (Wajir East) and Mr Ibrahim Saney (Wajir North) urged the Wajir electorate to overwhelmingly vote for the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto in appreciation of development projects the government has initiated in the County.
Nominated senator Ms Halima Abdille who is now eying the Women Representative said the Jubilee team was destined for a win and urged the voters from the county not to be swayed into supporting the opposition.
Ms Fatuma Mohamed Dahiye aka F Kalay who was nominated by ODM MCA, but has now joined Jubilee bandwagon of Wajir County assured to deliver to the ruling party. She is popular in Wajir west constituency and last elections championed the election of the incumbent. F Kalay, said the leadership of Uhuruto was of youthful development conscious and able to deliver leaders.
The event was also attended by top businessmen from Wajir led by the famous tycoon Mr Mohamed Abdi Muhamud aka Kadogo, Mr Shallow Abdullahi, Mr Abid Dahir Ali aka Haji Abdinoor, Mr Hassan Hudhow, Mr Haji Yare and Mr Mohamed Ugass Gabane. Mr Kadogo speaking to Kenya Free Press after the event said he was confident that Ambassador Mohamed Abdi was mature politically and will effectively utilize the County resources.

A total of Sh228,199,849 was raised with Ambassador Abdi giving out Sh20 million, his running mate Sh10 million, Dr Kabreta Sh10 million, Halima Abdille Sh10 million, Abass Sh10 million, Saney Sh20 million while President Kenyatta and his deputy sent Sh10 million with Jubilee party sending Sh40 million. Others who donated included businessmen, Wajir professionals, friends and well-wishers.
