An independent candidate for the Kangundo parliamentary seat has promised his opponents a run for their money in the August polls. Athanas Mutinda, who was to face off with incumbent MP Katatha Maweu for the Wiper ticket before the incumbent was given a direct ticket, expressed confidence to clinch the seat.
"Despite being denied the Wiper ticket, I am very confident that I will beat my opponents to become the Kangundo MP come August," said Mr Mutinda. The businessman assured his opponents of a battle for seat till the end saying that he has all the leadership skills needed.
"I will give my opponents a run for their money, it will be a battle for the seat till the August and I know the people will vote for me because I have all the leadership skills needed," he added.
He further challenged his opponents to campaign peacefully without spreading hate speech or words that can bring political unrest.
