A Kangundo Parliamentary aspirant has asked the government to build more schools in the sub-county to boost education levels in the region. Dr. Ancent Kituku, who is an Independent candidate noted that the sub-county has been registering poor results due to the shortage of single gender public schools.

The sub-county has only two public Girls Schools and three public Boys Schools with the rest being mixed schools. "I am calling upon the national government to build more non-mixed public schools to boost the education of the sub-county," said Kituku.

He further expressed his disappointment after the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) recruitment in Kangundo ended with no girl being picked due to poor results. "I was shocked that after the KDF recruitment that no girl was picked due to poor results, they did not meet the academic requirements”, he said.
