Former KAM Sacco treasurer Cosmas Ngula Masesi has promised his closest competitor and the current deputy majority leader in the Machakos County Willy Mukewa a run for his money for the Matungulu East ward in the upcoming general elections.

Mr Masesi, who will be vying for the Matungulu East MCA seat on a Wiper ticket, spoke confidently about his chances in the election, urging Mr Mukewa to brace for defeat. He said he was vying for the seat because of the unfinished projects by the current MCA, who is a close ally to Machakos governor Dr Alfred Mutua.

The candidate added that there was need for leaders to fulfill their promises to citizens once elected, promising that he would first equip boreholes which are now malfunctional in the entire region. Mr Masesi pointed out that he would ensure that he has distributed bursary funds equally especially to needy children.

He further called out to his opponents to campaign peacefully, saying politicians "should not treat elections as the end of life."
