Aspirants for Members of County Assembly positions in Kangundo and Matungulu constituencies turned out in large numbers for clearance at IEBC offices before the deadline, allowing local IEBC officials to expedite the work on their nomination without hitches.
The process which started on Sunday has so far been good with no cases of aspirants failing to be cleared. According to Kangundo constituency Returning Officer Rosalyne Kasale, more than 40 MCA aspirants had been cleared by Wednesday, with 17 aspirants being cleared on Tuesday.
The clearance process however on Tuesday ended at 6 o'clock in the evening due to network hitches with Ms Kasale noting that the commission staff are using 2G network.
In Matungulu constituency, 32 aspirants had been cleared out of 51 aspirants with the Returning Officer Jacob Machekele noting that only aspirants with small errors were being sent back to rectify then come back for clearance. MP aspirants started clearing this morning.
