The mother of Kitui senator David Musila who died last weekend will be laid to rest at her Mwingi home this weekend. Mr Musila, popularly known by his supporters as Bwana Meko, lost his mother Alice Kivwea Musila, 95, on Sunday May 14 at Nairobi Hospital. She had been admitted there for almost three weeks due to old age complications according to his grandchild Aron Musila.

Mr Musila lost the Wiper gubernatorial ticket to incumbent Dr Julius Malombe during party nominations but he rejected the official results, and due to dissatisfaction he resigned from the Wiper Party and announced his bid to run as an independent candidate. The region is awaiting to see how Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka will relate with Mr Musila during the funeral.

As Mr Musila blamed his former party boss for his defeat during nominations, Wiper party leaders might want to use the opportunity to support Dr Malombe or declare empathy for Mr Musila. Preparations are ongoing and various leaders are expected to visit the home to condole with their colleague during his mother’s send off.
