Tharaka Nithi governor wants IEBC to block early campaigns

“I am not worried about my rivals who are already in full campaign, but IEBC should have implemented the regulation because some of us are still in office and delivering services to the people,” said Mr Ragwa, who was addressing a funeral ceremony at Kianthumbi village in Tharaka South.

Tharaka Nithi Governor Ragwa has appealed to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to take action against politicians who have started active campaigns before the official campaign period starts on May 28.

“I am not worried about my rivals who are already in full campaign, but IEBC should have implemented the regulation because some of us are still in office and delivering services to the people,” said Mr Ragwa, who was addressing a funeral ceremony at Kianthumbi village in Tharaka South.

The governor, who is defending his seat on a Narc-Kenya ticket against Jubilee's candidate, current Chuka Igambang’ombe MP Muthomi Njuki, assured his supporters that he would romp to victory in the general elections. He urged his opponents to stop the propaganda that Narc-Kenya supports NASA presidential flag-bearer Raila Odinga.
