Kangundo MP hopeful and businessman Athanas Ndolo has slammed the Wiper Party for giving a direct nomination to the incumbent Katatha Maweu.
Mr Ndolo, who was eyeing the ticket, had paid the nomination fee of Sh250,000 to the party and was to battle it out with Mr Maweu, who recently joined the Wiper party after defecting from the TIP TIP party led by former Kibwezi MP Kalembe Ndile.
He said that the people of Kangundo should have been left to choose whom they wanted to lead them, saying the party's move was undemocratic and would affect the party's presidential campaign efforts.
"Wiper should stop imposing leaders to people and let the people to decide because they are the ones with the final say. Wrong decisions like this one can cost the party a lot and result in voter apathy," he added.
Mr Ndolo however called for his supporters to remain calm and that he is soon unveiling a new party on which he will vie for the seat on. "I am urging my supporters to remain calm and do not panic I will unveil the new party that I will be vying on and I will be on the ballot come August."
