Machakos County Women Representative Dr Susan Musyoka on Monday evening visited the home of the 13-year old girl who was defiled at Katine, Matungulu Sub County in Machakos county where she promised to make a follow up on the matter. Dr Musyoka promised to ensure that the girl who now has a one-month old baby, gets justice in the courts.
"It is a shame for a fully grown man to engage in a such an act and I want to assure him that his time as a free man is up. I will make a follow up on the matter and I can assure the girl and her entire family that they will get justice," said Dr Musyoka, who called on the police to ensure that they cooperate on defilement cases to dispense justice to offenders.
The MP also asked police officers not to shield suspected criminals in such cases as it emerged that the case was reported at the Tala police post and the alleged man was not summoned by the police. "I am appealing to the police to handle rape cases with caution and to ensure that justice is done, not shield criminals," she added.
The fiery MP further said she will let the police conclude its investigations and that she will write to the State Counsel handling the matter to have a DNA test conducted so as to ascertain the father of the child. "We are still waiting for the police to conclude with their investigations and once they are through I will write to the State Council for a DNA test so as to know the father of the child".
