Machakos governor Dr Alfred Mutua met resistance in Tala market after declaring that he would be supporting re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta and Jubilee party.
Dr Mutua had toured the area to thank the people of Tala for re-electing him but the people became impatient after he said that it would be easy for him to be elected as the president in 2022 if President Uhuru Kenyatta is re-elected as the President.
"It will be easy for me to be elected as President in 2022 if president Uhuru Kenyatta is reelected that is why I am supporting him and the Jubilee party," said Dr Mutua.
His statements annoyed the residents who instead resorted to shouting pro-NASA chants. Dr Mutua hit back and threatened to arrest those shouting NASA.
"Those shouting shouting NASA should be arrested to see if anyone will come to release them, I am the governor so don't shout at me," he added.
Earlier he had toured Kakuyuni market to thank the people for reelecting him before proceeding to Tala market where he met a lot of resistance.
