The two gubernatorial candidates for Nairobi have the same fame according to the latest polls. The poll by Research Firm Trends and Insights for Africa (TIFA) places the incumbent Evans Kidero and his closest rival the Nairobi Senator and Jubilee’s candidate Gideon Mike Mbuvi Sonko tallying at 44 per cent.
This an indication that the race for Nairobi governor seat is hotly contested by the two and can go either way if the latest opinion is anything to go by. Both have been seen to have close support of voters at 42 per cent. Early this month Dr Kidero was ahead of Mike Mbuvi by 44 per cent while Mr Sonko had 43 per cent support.
These recent polls released by TIFA indicates that it will be difficult to predict who will be the next boss for Nairobi after elections. TIFA revealed also 7 per cent of Nairobians have not decided their minds on whom to vote for, therefore leaving a room to sway in either support of Dr Kidero or Mr Sonko.
Meanwhile in Kirinyanga County former Devolution CS Ms Ann Wainguru of Jubilee Party is ahead of her political rival Ms Martha Karua of Narc Kenya in gubernatorial race, according to the latest opinion. Ms Waiguru has 55 per cent support with a gap of 20 per cent above Mr Karua who has 35 per cent.
