The North rift community is known for its cool and sober way of dealing with political issues in every general or by-elections, With the powered and unique approach on how campaigns are unrolled in Uasin Gishu County makes hard for anyone who’s used to the normal and conventional methods of vote hunting to understand and internalize.

Mr Zedekiah Kiprop Bundotich famously known as Buzeki has revolutionized the vote hunting methodology which has taken his competitors by surprise amongst them the incumbent Mr Jackson Kiplagat Mandago,

For many of the Eldoret town dwellers and business community Mr Buzeki is seen as the only protector of their interests although this has been detrimental to his image amongst the rural residents and voters of county number 027 who feel that  Buzeki is the gateway to outsiders’ access to Uasin Gishu County resources.

Buzeki has also been battling  the notion that he is a project of the Deputy President William Ruto. However this somehow appeared to work against his wishes when Mr Ruto urged him to step down during Jubilee rally in Eldoret. However, Buzeki, has pushed on with his campaign and his efforts to bring different communities together. The Independent gubernatorial candidate has technically decided to focus on issues affecting mwananchi directly the gimmick of vote begging and Traditional political paraphernalia as used by the incumbent.

Speaking during the first of its kind Uasin Gishu Alumnus Dinner Mr Buzeki said that his loans in millions that he took from banks to fund his businesses throughout is life have never at any time given him sleepless nights but having met a lady who had not had food for 23hrs in Kesses during his campaign trails has kept on pondering his mind till date, ‘what worries me is that a child can stay away from school because of a mere Ksh10,000  which for some of us here is just a day’s meal’’,Mr Buzeki said.

The essence of the alumnus foundation is to form a kitty to sponsor and cater for the upkeep of less fortunate in the county, the foundation will be launched later this week.

Throughout this week  Buzeki has been engaging the youth of Eldoret city in peace building process through events such as cycling, Rugby and Motor sport,  Buzeki sees the county far  ahead under his leadership and he is optimistic that his bid as an independent candidate will break the Six Suit Voting pattern considering this is the Home county to the Deputy President and Kalenjin Rift Valley king pin William Samoei Rutto, nevertheless  Buzeki being a Keiyo is considered an outsider by the Majority Nandi community and his constant push on to cling the seat from Jackson Mr Kiplagat Mandago is detrimental to the bid of Prof Margret Kamar and Ms Gladys Shollei who sailed through Jubilee primaries and are intensifying their campaigns.

There has however been rebellion from Nandi community that they would support NASA presidential Candidate Raila Odinga alongside Mr Mandago if the Deputy President fails to contain Mr Buzeki.

The latest slogan of Tuma mtu Nyumbani  (send someone home) is targeted at the Deputy President as a punishment for having supported Mr Buzeki and created a hard time to Jubilees own Mr Mandago which implies that as things are Mr Buzeki’s Win as Independent Candidate is anchored on. The seat was highly contested hence, the gap is not alarming. In fact, the incumbent should be a worried man because for a contestant who only campaigned for a short period yet managed to gather over 80,000 votes proofs resilient and determination.

Right now Mr Buzeki has good insights and being a great business man, you can be sure he has mastered the secrets of his campaigns and will implement to the latter to his own advantage. It is a fact that Mr Buzeki’s strongholds experienced interferences, delays and intimidation of voters. Aug 8th will give a true reflection of Uasin Gishu Voting Patterns
