Nicholas Korir leads the 10kilometres Senior Men category at the 9th Edition of Isaiah Kiplagat Ndalat Cross Country Championships in Nandi County, in time of 31:05.6 followed closely by Noah Kipkemboi in time of 31:10.0. Emmanuel Bor came in third in time of 31:14.4.

In the senior women's category, Sandra Cherono who won the just concluded Safaricom Kericho Road Race last weekend, clocked a time of 28:07:06. In second place Eve Cherono clocked at a time of 28:31.0. Third place came to Pascalia Jepkorir in time of 28.40.03

In the special category, school for the deaf also participated with 32 athletes.
Over 3500 athletes took part in the championships which was flagged off at Ndalat Gaa Girls Secondary School.
The winner received Sh50,000, first runners up received Sh40,000 while second runners up were awarded Sh30,000. All the top three athletes received travel packs from Safaricom. The race received Sh2 Million in cash and also a medical camp for the residents of Ndalat.
Other races in the Safaricom Athletics Series include Madoka Half Marathon, Imenti South Road Race and Kisumu Town Marathon, which will wind up this year's edition in December.
Madoka Half Marathon is scheduled to take place on 21st October 2017.
