LaLiga President visits Kenyan Premier League Offices

A press conference, which will also be attended by the Spanish Ambassador to Kenya Javier García de Viedma Bernaldo de Quirós, to announce full details of the partnership between KPL and La Liga, will be held on Thursday at the Sarova Stanley, Nairobi, later today.

Spanish LaLiga President Javier Tebas Medrano arrived in Kenya Wednesday for a two-day visit and paid a courtesy call on the Kenyan Premier League Limited. He is in Kenya at the invitation of the Kenyan Premier League, part of a follow up on a visit to Spain by KPL executives in 2016, courtesy of LaLiga.

Tebas is accompanied by Melcior Soler, the LaLiga Director of Audio Visual. "Their visit to the Kenyan Premier League is consistent with the aims and objectives of the World Leagues Forum, of which KPL and LaLiga are members, whereby members of developing leagues grow through association and partnership with members of the World’s top leagues," KPL said in a statement on Tuesday.

On Thursday, LaLiga chief and his KPL counterpart Ambrose Rachier will sign a partnership deal in Nairobi, geared towards strengthening football ties between the two bodies. The signing ceremony and subsequent press conference will also be attended by the Spanish Ambassador to Kenya Javier  Garcia  Quiros.
