China-based players Micheal Olunga and winger Ayub Timbe are among the 11 foreign-based players called up for this week's international friendlies against Uganda and DR Congo.
Striker Olunga, 22, turned out for former Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia and other KPL teams before joining Sweden's Djugardens. The 2015 KPL Most Valuable Player (MVP) joined Chinese Super League Club Guizhou Zhicheng at the start of the 2017 season.
Midfielder Timbe, 24, played his trade in Belgium, turning out for Genk and Lierse FC before heading to China where he signed for China League One side Beijing Renhe. They are among the foreign-based players called up by Harambee Stars coach Stanley Okumbi for the friendly matches against Uganda and DR Congo on Thursday and Sunday respectively at Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos. Kenya will use the friendlies to shape up for the 2019 AFCON qualifier match against Sierra Leone in June.
