Two Kangundo women charged with operating pharmacies illegally

They both denied the charges and were released on Sh20,000 cash bail. Both cases will be mentioned on June 23. Martha Muingai's case will be heard on July 5 while Lilian Muinde's will be heard on July 3.

Two women have been charged in Kangundo Law Court with two counts, one for operating pharmacies illegally and the second for operating pharmacies when they are not registered. The two had operations at Malaa town center in Matungulu Sub County.

The two ladies, Martha Muingai and Lilian Muinde, were arrested on June 5 and were today presented before Senior Resident Magistrate Martha A. Opanga. They both denied the charges and were released on Sh20,000 cash bail. Both cases will be mentioned on June 23. Martha Muingai's case will be heard on July 5 while Lilian Muinde's will be heard on July 3.

There has been growing concern in the region about business people who operate unlicensed chemist shops.
