Machakos County set to host the 2nd edition of UNESCO National Cultural Celebrations

Kenyans looking forward to participate in showcasing their products and services are required to download the registration form, fill and submit it to the UNESCO website.

The Machakos People’s Park which is set to host the UNESCO National Cultural Celebrations.

Machakos County has been selected to host this year’s 2nd edition of the UNESCO National Cultural Celebrations. The events will be held at the Machakos People’s Park from 1st to 3rd September.

The theme for this year’s celebrations is ‘Promoting Intercultural Dialogue and Culture of Peace for Sustainable Development’. President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to preside over the opening ceremony.  

County governments, private sector players, foreign embassies, ministries, non-governmental organizations, foundations and individuals will participate in the three-day celebrations which will also involve cultural performances, exhibitions, gallery viewing, cultural villages and awarding the top performers in each category.

Kenyans have been encouraged to participate and witness Kenya’s rich diversity in culture and evolving creative industries. Entry to the event is free.
