ODM, the senior partner in NASA, is grappling with confusion over its nominee for the Nairobi senate seat. The party had issued an automatic ticket to a nondescript aspirant called Chapia Chapia and only over the weekend tried to withdraw Chapia’s nomination in favour of lawyer Edwin Sifuna.
The rallies that will test the popularity of Mr candidature in the region will be led by Governor John Nyagarama, who on Friday met all the party's aspirants and appealed for them to come together and overcome divisions of the primaries season.
With Mr Kimutai determined to assume office despite the court order, Mr Mackenzie took what the workers viewed as a bold step by ordering them on a go-slow. She had on Friday stormed the office where Mr Kimutai was meeting some senior staff and loudly asked the incoming CEO to obey court orders.

Mr Mwaita managed only 5,448 votes against David Kipkerich's 17,800. The MP had no choice but congratulate his opponent as the results were being announced. Ms Sambili, a former minister, received only 6,015 votes compared to Dr Daniel Tutoek's 11,994, forcing her into retirement from politics.
Like in 2007, all incumbents have lost except for Kanini Kega of Kieni. Gachagua Rigathi, brother to recently-departed Nyeri governor Nderitu Gachagua, beat the current member of parliament Peter Weru while political activist Wambugu Ngunijiri beat the incumbent Esther Murugi in Nyeri Town.

In Kilifi South, Jubilee aspirants have rejected the defection of Mustafa Iddi, who will seek reelection on the party's ticket. In Tana River, county assembly speaker Nuh Nassir who had teamed up with Danson Mungatana in the governorship campaign did not welcome Mr Dado's defection.
Several residents from Masii have expressed their displeasure in the way the governor has been attacking those opposed to his party, asking him to allow the people to make their own choices as the electorate.

"The government is very keen on that and we are monitoring individuals who write hate in social media platforms. It is better for people to educate themselves on social media platforms rather than stoking animosity in the community," he said.
The staff members also want to see the implicated officials charged in court. "We have seen the raids before, and in fact they are useless unless the EACC can show that people are being charged with crimes and forced to vacate office. Otherwise it is a PR exercise," said another employee.
Mr Katuku told this website, "Yes, it’s true I will be going for the senator Machakos County. But I will give details during a press conference at a later date and announce my agenda and campaign schedule”.

A source in the Mwakwere camp intimated to this website that the former ambassador was apprehensive over ODM's nominations, fearing that he could be rigged out and locked out of the race at the last minute. Mr Musyoka hinted that Mr Mwakwere will get a direct Wiper nominations.
