Taxi driver Wanyoike Mwenda is the lucky winner of the Goma Lotto Sh1 million Mega Million prize. Mwenda, a taxi operator in Nairobi, hails from Nyeri County.

Happy to win the prize, Mwenda told the media at the cheque presentation ceremony on August 31 that he will use part of the money to settle his wife's medical bill. ''I will also use part of the money to buy a piece of land and establish a home,'' he said.

Goma Lotto, a betting company, is the marketing partner of Kenyan Premier League leaders, Gor Mahia. Speaking at the function, Goma Lotto Head of Digital Marketing and Content Production, Michael Saruni said effective from September 1, the firm will  introduce an asset reward scheme for winners.

From September 1, the firm is introducing three draws- a daily draw in whichevery 30 minutes the lucky winner takes home 300 times more the amount he/she bet.

A Sh100,000 draw every Tuesday and motorcycle draw every Saturday in which a lucky already in or keen on investing in the Boda Boda business wins a motorcycle.
