Here are the winners of Pulse Music Video Awards

Together with event gurus, True Blaq Entertainment and Mash Auto, Pulse ought to bring the East Africa Motor Show, an entertainment and automobile extravaganza that will feature international stars and give away a pimped-up car to the readers of Pulse magazine.

The second edition of the only national awards in Kenya Pulse Music Video Awards, commonly known as PMVA, took place yesterday evening at the Nairobi Serena Hotel. The awards are presented to honour the best music video medium and are aimed at appreciating the local musicians and the content of their videos.

Together with event gurus, True Blaq Entertainment and Mash Auto (the guys behind the popular Kenyan stretch limos) Pulse ought to bring the East Africa Motor Show, an entertainment and automobile extravaganza that will feature international stars and give away a pimped-up car to the readers of Pulse magazine, an insert in The Standard on Fridays.

The event that was graced by many renowned Kenyan artists was hosted by the celebrated Shaffie Weru of Kiss FM and the outspoken Esther Mwende of Radio Maisha, an event that brought together artists across the country like Khaligraph Jones, King Kaka, The Kansoul, Akothee, Timmy T dat, Everlast, Naiboi, Wahu and other artistes in a celebration of the milestones the industry has underwent in terms of music and video production.

Local artists entertained the audience and the guest artists wowed with their epic performances. Nyashinki was the man of the night as he took home two awards, best male artist of the year and most viewed nominated video of the year with his song ‘Now you Know’.

Dela on the other side took one of the top awards of the night with her song ‘mafeelings’ as the best female artist of the year and Sauti Sol were lucky enough to be the best group of the year. The Pulse Music Video Awards envisions to celebrate the Kenyan music industry and efforts put in their songs, videos, producers, directors and many others. The winners were:-

Best male artist of the year- Nyashinki

Best female artist of the year- Dela, 'mafeelings'

Video Director of the year- Moses Osidiani in Cece Sagini and Octo's 'I'm a doer'

Best Group Video of the year- Sauti Sol, 'live and die in Africa'

Best Collaboration of the year- Gilad and Dela, 'nakuahidi'

Best Video Vixen of the year- Evelyn Wanjiru in Khaligraph's, 'Wanjiru and Akinyi'

Most Viewed Nominated Video of the year- Nyashinki, 'now you know'

Choreography of the year- Amos and Josh,'dansi na mi'

Breakthrough Video of the year- Everlast and Naiboi, 'gudi gudi'

New Artiste of the year- Rankadah and Naiboi, 'tingika'
