Wajir women representative Fatuma Gedi today celebrated her party leader Uhuru Kenyatta’s birthday with inmates at Wajir GK Prison. In a bid to dramatise her support for the president, the MP first cast her ballot for Uhuru during the repeat election and later took a birthday cake for the inmates in order to celebrate.

In addition to the cake, the MP also gave the inmates other essentials such as sanitary pads, soap and other laundry products. She led the prisoners in singing praises for the president. “This is an important day for all Kenyans given that we have been called upon to exercise our democratic rights.

“For the president, it is doubly important because in addition to him seeking a second term, this is his birthday,” the MP said.
