Kangundo couple celebrates 67th wedding anniversary in style

Staunch Catholic believers, Mr Ngui and his wife who are blessed with 10 children, 33 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, said that the secret behind their marriage's success was the fear of God and understanding for each other in the relationship.

An elderly couple from Uamani village in Kangundo, Machakos County, celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary in style at the St. Leonard Catholic Church. Joseph Ngui, 92, and his wife Maricelina Nzula, 87, marked the event in a ceremony where family, friends and church members prayed with them and shared their cake.

Staunch Catholic believers, Mr Ngui and his wife who are blessed with 10 children, 33 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, said that the secret behind their marriage's success was the fear of God and understanding for each other in the relationship.

They added that marriages are bound by many problems but the manner in which the problems are approached determines how happy a couple can get. They couple further challenged young couples to build their marriages on church foundations for them to last long.
