Leading vehicle manufacturer, General Motors East Africa (GMEA) has launched the new Chevrolet Trailblazer 2017 model. The SUV vehicle was unveiled at a colorful ceremony at the Sameer Business Park Chevrolet showroom. Speaking at the launch ceremony, GMEA Managing Director Rita Kavashe said the new vehicle is positioned for the luxury vehicle market segment, which has in the last year grown by 4 per cent.
“With rapid urbanization, increasing disposable income in the middle class and infrastructure development in the last few years, demand for luxury vehicles is increasing in the Kenyan market. The new model is a response to customer feedback and the need to introduce a superior vehicle with exciting new features,” said Ms Kavashe.
The MY2017 Chevrolet Trailblazer builds on Chevrolet’s rich legacy of building the world’s first SUV, the Suburban, to produce a stylish vehicle that combines a commanding presence with sporty sophistication. Ms Kavashe described the MY2017 Chevrolet Trailblazer as the ultimate SUV for the modern family and the vehicle of choice for anyone looking for a premium vehicle that meets their lifestyle needs.
“From city commuting to off-road trips, our lives revolve around different activities and a variety of experiences. Adventure is more than just the outdoors – it’s also about new experiences within urban settings. And how one arrives is a big deal. The new 2017 Chevrolet Trailblazer offers just that,” added Ms Kavashe.
This tough and yet comfortable SUV has been equipped with technological innovations that will offer new and exciting experience to the driver. Featuring the Chevrolet MyLink navigation, an 8-inch color touch-screen display provides easy access to an advanced infotainment system which can be activated through voice command. Offering an array of safety features, the MY2017 Chevrolet Trailblazer has been ranked as the safest SUV in the industry unrivaled by any other SUV. The vehicle has been awarded a 5 Star Rating by Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) and New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asia (ASEAN NCAP) safety bodies.
“At a time when road safety is a key concern for individuals on the road, the new Chevrolet Trailblazer includes advanced safety features such as Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert, Panic Brake Assist, Anti Rolling Protection and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System among others,” said Ms Kavashe.
Also in attendance was GMEA’s General Manager for Sales & Marketing Geoffrey Mulandi, who lauded the launch of the new model terming it as a timely event. “The new MY17 Chevrolet Trailblazer will make us more competitive in the market, while at the same time provide our customer with a better high performance vehicle at an affordable cost,” he said.
The 2017 Chevrolet Trailblazer retails at Sh5.91 million and will be available at all GMEA dealers countrywide.
